Makki uses the finest grade of Eel Skin Leather.
The leather is much softer than normal leather,
although it is approximately 3 times stronger.
The designs are hand made and hand dyed. The
leather is a by product of the food industry, the
eels are not killed for their skin. Treated with
care, the designs last for many years. Makki
recommend treating the leather with a leather
protector spray before use.
Makki has an eco fashion policy and supports
artisans who have developed ancient techniques
over years. Each Makki piece has the unique
one of a kind appeal owing to the hand made and
hand dyed qualities. Makki boasts an excellent
relationship with the artisans who make their
designs. When possible Makki visit places of
work and ensure good working conditions are
maintained.
